About the SESTRA Mapping System 🗺️
This platform provides public access to core research data and interactive tools from the
Socio-Ecological Systems Transformation in River basins of the sub-Arctic (SESTRA) project.
Use this system to explore the complex interactions between climate change, water systems, and human society in two critical sub-Arctic river basins:
the Kuskokwim River (Alaska) and the Selenge River (Mongolia).
Key Features for Data Exploration
- Raster and Point Data: Access hydroclimatic, ecological, and socioeconomic datasets.
- Time Series Analysis: Investigate temporal trends at any map location.
- Vector Polygon Tools: Define custom regions (polygons) for targeted data extraction and analysis.
- Data Calculator: Perform statistical and mathematical functions directly on data layers.
- Custom Projections: Easily switch between Geographic, Polar, and Pseudo-Mercator views.
Quick Start Guide
- Select your primary dataset from the Data Menu.
- Utilize the map controls to pan and zoom to your region of interest.
- Click on the map or use the Point Data menu to retrieve Time Series information.
